Well I stumbled across this song tonight while browsing a Google Search for C&C. An unreleased song from the talented Dallas Green. Nothing short of amazing as usual. Poor video quality but its all about the sound :). Enjoy. I know I did.
Anberlin. A great name for a great band.

Anberlin is a band that I just recently stumbled on last week while downloading music. The lead singer’s voice just seems to ebb and flow with the sound of the instruments being played. Their style reminds me of show tunes, but only in the way of instrument sounds. Some of my favorite tracks from them are “Paperthin Hymn”, “Retrace”, and “Dismantle.Repair”.
Here is a treat for you. “Retrace” by Anberlin:
Dallas Green’s “Colourful” Music Style
by DustinL on May.19, 2009, under Music
Dallas Green is probably best known for being a member of the post-hardcore Canadian band “Alexisonfire” (AOF). And for those of you wondering, he was named after the baseball player by the same name. While I am not a big fan of AOF’s music style, Green’s side project, City and Colour, is in my opinion some of the best music I have ever heard. I think his name choice was rather humorous also, as his first name is the city, and the last being a color, or colour if your into that EU vocabulary. I have always been a fan of acoustic music with a deep/sad undertone and C&C just fits in there perfectly.
While some call his style depressing or dark, Green insists that he is not a “sad” or “depressed” person, but merely uses music as his outlet for the aspects of life that bring on depression or move him deeply. This can be seen in songs such as “Body in a Box” and “Serravalle”, which convey Green’s attitude towards funerals and his feelings about a friends suicide respectively. Not only does the guy have an amazing vocal ability, he plays a multitude of instruments in many of his songs ranging from the piano/organ to the banjo/mandolin. I strongly suggest listening to some of his music even if you are not a fan of the genre, his vocals are great. Do a YouTube search on “City and Colour” or check out his site at cityandcolour.ca for more information.
Is anyone a fan of him?
If anyone has found someone of a similar calibre please let me know!
